Justin Trudeau has reignited Katy Perry romance rumors with a playful Halloween post that caught the attention of fans worldwide. The former Canadian prime minister took to Instagram on Friday to share his spooky celebration with his youngest son, Hadrien.
In one of the photos, Trudeau dressed up as a shark — similar to the one worn by dancers in Katy Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show. The post featured him holding a surfboard splattered with fake blood, while his son posed beside him, pretending to be frightened. The young boy wore a black outfit, black boots, and fake blood on his face to complete the spooky look.
Trudeau captioned the post, “Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left),” referencing Bryan Gaw, better known as “Left Shark,” who became a viral sensation during Katy Perry’s halftime show. He added, “We built the costume together — a little father-son Halloween teamwork.”
Social media users quickly reacted to the post, with one commenting, “I’ll dress up as Katy Perry and then you and I can pretend to be together!” Another joked, “TO HIS LEFT,” echoing the famous Super Bowl meme.
Rumors about Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship first began in July 2025 when the two were seen chatting at Le Violon in Montreal. Their connection appeared to deepen, as they made their first public appearance as a couple earlier this month during a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse Paris, celebrating Perry’s birthday.
Trudeau, 53, shares three children — Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11 — with his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. Though neither Katy Perry nor Justin Trudeau has confirmed their relationship, the Halloween post has certainly added fuel to the growing romance speculation.
