King Charles has claimed the title of the hardest-working royal of 2025, overtaking his sister, Princess Anne. The 77-year-old monarch completed 532 engagements this year, despite undergoing cancer treatment, according to research by royal expert Patricia Treble for The Mirror.
Princess Anne, 75, finished second with 478 engagements up to December 18. King Charles traveled extensively across the UK and abroad, representing the country in nations such as Poland, Canada, Italy, and Vatican City. He also attended key anniversaries and met global leaders, including President Zelensky.
The Duke of Edinburgh, 61, ranked third with 313 engagements, while the Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, completed 235. Princess Anne visited South Africa, Ukraine, Australia, and Singapore throughout the year. Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, visited Nepal and Japan together.
Queen Camilla secured the fifth spot as the hardest-working royal, with 228 engagements. She was followed by the Duke of Gloucester, who completed 212 engagements. The Prince of Wales undertook 202 engagements, including visits to troops in Estonia and appearances at high-profile events such as the Pope’s funeral in Vatican City and the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco. His daughter, Princess Charlotte, even accompanied him to the Women’s Euro 2025 final in Switzerland.
The Duchess of Gloucester carried out 113 engagements, the Duke of Kent completed 90, and Princess Kate finished the year with 69 engagements. Kate gradually returned to public duties after announcing she is in remission from cancer.
King Charles’s achievement highlights his dedication to public service, earning him recognition as the hardest-working royal of 2025. His extensive schedule demonstrates a strong commitment to both domestic and international duties, setting a high standard for the royal family.
