‘Love Guru’ Outshines ‘Housefull 5’ at Global Box Office

Pakistani cinema scored a major win this Eid as Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan’s romantic comedy Love Guru outperformed Bollywood’s Housefull 5 at the global box office. The two films, which released simultaneously on June 6, went head-to-head in a high-stakes cinematic showdown — and the Pakistani title came out on top.

According to international box office reports, Love Guru grossed approximately £75,000 (Rs. 27 million) in its second week in UK cinemas, while Akshay Kumar’s comedy franchise sequel Housefull 5 trailed behind with £56,000 (Rs. 20 million). The strong overseas performance reflects a growing appreciation for Pakistani films among global audiences.

Produced by Six Sigma Plus, Salman Iqbal Films, and ARY Films, Love Guru is proving to be more than just a holiday release — it’s a statement about the rising quality and global competitiveness of Pakistani cinema.
