Pakistani actress Mahira Khan disclosed she was considered for the Indian web series Heeramandi 15 years ago. The revelation came during a recent interview.
Mahira, then a popular TV VJ, shared that the opportunity arose during a trip to Mumbai for a friend’s wedding. While at designer studios, her friend suggested her name to Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who expressed interest in casting her.
However, rising diplomatic tensions after the Taj incident and Bhansali’s focus on Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s debut film halted the collaboration.
