Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil has once again used her platform to address a critical social issue, this time highlighting the growing problem of child prostitution in the country. Her statements have sparked widespread conversation on social media, as she questioned why public debate often focuses on LGBTQ rights while sexual exploitation of minors remains largely ignored.
In a video that quickly went viral, Nadia Jamil spoke directly to a group of young girls, exposing the harsh realities faced by many children in Pakistan. She revealed that child abuse occurs not only in homes and schools but also in workplaces, factories, and other hidden corners of society. Her message emphasized that the issue is far-reaching and cannot be ignored.
The actress referred to an investigative report conducted in Lahore and other cities, which uncovered nine child prostitution dens using hidden camera footage. Children between the ages of 7 and 16 were reportedly exploited in these dens. Watching the footage left Nadia Jamil visibly heartbroken and determined to raise awareness about the crisis.
She also highlighted other places where minors face abuse, including truck depots, coal mines, factories, and even educational institutions. Jamil stressed that many children accept their exploitation as inevitable, particularly boys forced into harsh labor environments who see little opportunity for escape.
Becoming emotional during her address, Jamil criticized societyโs selective outrage. She noted that while many people actively discuss LGBTQ issues, child abuse and exploitation often go unchallenged. She urged communities to confront the silent epidemic and called for collective action to protect vulnerable children.
