Pakistani actress and model Nausheen Shah has shared the personal reason behind her decision to remove her hijab. Speaking on a popular podcast, she discussed her spiritual journey and faith transformation.
Nausheen Shah revealed that a dream initially inspired her to wear the hijab. “I heard a voice in my dream saying that if you don’t cover your head, the angels will leave you. As soon as I woke up, I picked up the dupatta and wore it regularly for about four months,” she explained. During this time, she wore the hijab consistently, both at home and during shoots.
However, despite her commitment, Nausheen Shah admitted she began feeling like she was living a double life. This internal conflict prompted her to rethink her choices and ultimately decide to remove the hijab. “I asked Allah for forgiveness and removed the hijab, even though I used to style it beautifully and it felt nice to wear,” she shared.
The actress also opened up about embracing spirituality beyond outward appearances. Nausheen Shah described how she prayed for guidance and a closer connection with Allah. “I prayed, ‘O Allah, call me towards you and if you love me, then bring me towards prayer.’ Allah accepted my prayer, and now I pray regularly,” she said.
She highlighted that her spiritual practices now play a central role in her life, helping her maintain order, protect against negative influences, and stay grounded. Nausheen Shah emphasized that this journey is a personal one aimed at self-improvement and a stronger relationship with Allah.
