Navjot Kaur, wife of Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, has received a legal notice worth over $100 million (around Rs 850 crore) from Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS).
The notice concerns claims made by Sidhu about his wife’s recovery from Stage 4 cancer, which he attributed to “traditional” remedies.

On November 21, Sidhu stated that his wife had defeated Stage 4 cancer after doctors had given her just 40 days to live.
He credited her recovery to a specialized diet and lifestyle changes, controversially labeling cancer as “inflammation” caused by foods like milk, wheat, maida, and sugar.
These remarks sparked criticism from health professionals and the CCS, with Dr. Kuldeep Solanki, CCS Convener, warning against promoting unverified cancer treatments that could cause patients to neglect prescribed medical care.
In response, Sidhu issued a video clarifying that his wife’s dietary changes were designed to complement, not replace, conventional cancer treatments, and were made with guidance from medical professionals.
