SINGRAULI: Social media influencer Nidhi Tiwari has died at her home in Singrauli district. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. Investigators are currently examining the case as a suspected suicide.

Nidhi Tiwari was 30 years old and had a large following on social media. She regularly shared dance reels, lifestyle content and entertainment videos. Her online popularity had also supported her ambitions in modelling and acting.

According to family accounts, Nidhi went upstairs at around 8:20 p.m. She had reportedly completed her prayers before going to a room. She was speaking with a man identified as Sonu Singh during the call.

Some reports said Nidhi was using a Bluetooth earpiece during the conversation. Family members reportedly heard that an argument took place during the call. The exact details of the conversation have not been publicly established.

Relatives said Nidhi later locked herself inside the room. Singh allegedly contacted her mother soon afterward. He reportedly warned the family that Nidhi was in danger.

Her mother and other relatives then rushed upstairs. The room was reportedly locked from the inside. Family members forced the door open and found Nidhi unresponsive.

She was taken to NCL Hospital for medical treatment. Doctors reportedly declared her dead after she reached the hospital. Police subsequently began examining the events leading up to her death.

Singh has become a key figure in reports about the case. However, police have not publicly established that he caused or was responsible for her death. His exact role remains part of the investigation.

Reports have described Singh as an engineer linked to a company associated with Northern Coalfields Limited. However, accounts differ regarding his background and location. Some reports have linked him to Punjab, while others mention a connection with Delhi.

Family members reportedly said Nidhi and Singh were in a romantic relationship. His phone was reportedly switched off after the incident. Police are working to trace him and establish the sequence of events.

Before her death, Nidhi Tiwari had built a substantial online following. Her Facebook and Instagram accounts reportedly had around 1.6 million followers combined. She had about 900,000 followers on Facebook and more than 700,000 on Instagram.

Her content mainly featured dance reels, lifestyle updates and entertainment posts. She had become a recognised social media personality in the Vindhya region.

Nidhi also pursued opportunities beyond social media. She won the Miss Pretty India 2024 title, according to reports. She reportedly hoped to build a career in modelling and acting.

Following her death, attention also focused on her final Facebook post. The post discussed self-love and finding completeness within oneself. It was widely circulated after news of her death emerged.

However, investigators have not publicly identified the post as a suicide note. The post alone also does not establish a motive for her death.
