Veteran actress Paula Shaw, known for her role in Freddy vs. Jason and Hallmark movies, has died at the age of 84.
Her death was confirmed through a statement on her acting workshop website, The Max. According to the announcement, Shaw passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Shaw’s most recognized role came in 2003 when she played Pamela Voorhees, the mother of Jason, in Ronny Yu’s horror crossover film Freddy vs. Jason. Alongside her work in thrillers, she gained a strong following through holiday telefilms on the Hallmark Channel.
Hallmark fans will also remember her as Charlotte Jeffers, the mother of Andie MacDowell’s character in the drama series Cedar Cove. Beyond television, she was a dedicated member of the Actors Studio and spent years helping actors develop their craft through The Max.
