LAHORE — Renowned stage actor Qaiser Piya was robbed at a traffic signal in Lahore, police confirmed on Tuesday. Thieves snatched his valuable mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred in the Garden Town area while Qaiser Piya was traveling in his car. According to the FIR, his vehicle stopped at a traffic signal when one suspect hit the car and intentionally started an argument.
During the distraction, another suspect approached from the opposite side of the car. The second thief took advantage of the commotion and snatched Qaiser Piya’s expensive mobile phone. Both suspects then fled the scene before authorities could respond.
Following the robbery, Qaiser Piya immediately filed a complaint at the Garden Town police station. Police registered a formal FIR and have started an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, especially in areas prone to street crime. The Lahore police have also promised to increase patrolling near traffic signals and busy streets to prevent similar incidents.
