Queen Camilla borrowed Princess Eugenie’s famous wedding accessory for an annual reception at Windsor Castle on November 18.
The 78-year-old queen attended the event alongside King Charles and Prince William. The reception honored members of the Diplomatic Corps, one of the largest in the world.
Queen Camilla looked stunning in a floor-length white satin gown paired with elegant silver jewelry. She completed her look with the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, which Princess Eugenie famously wore during her 2018 wedding to Jack Brooksbank at St. George’s Chapel.
The tiara was originally borrowed by Eugenie from her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. Created by Boucheron in 1919 for Dame Margaret Helen Greville, the piece features a band of diamonds with a large emerald centerpiece. Its “kokoshnik” design was inspired by the Russian Imperial Court.
Queen Camilla’s choice of the tiara added historical significance and glamour to the reception. Her elegant styling highlighted the regal nature of the event while paying homage to royal traditions.
King Charles and Prince William looked equally refined in dark tailored tuxedos, maintaining the formal tone of the occasion.
This year’s reception marks the first time since 2001 that the event has been held at Windsor Castle. It provides an opportunity for the royals to meet representatives of countries accredited to the Court of St. James and strengthen diplomatic ties.
Queen Camilla’s appearance, wearing Princess Eugenie’s treasured tiara, garnered attention for blending royal heritage with modern elegance. Her decision also showcased her respect for royal family history and her ability to honor past traditions while attending high-profile events.
The reception at Windsor Castle remains a key fixture in the royal calendar, emphasizing ceremonial grandeur and the importance of diplomatic engagement. Queen Camilla’s stylish choice of attire and jewelry reinforced her role as a prominent figure in the British monarchy.
