Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has revealed shocking details of the attack he survived earlier this year. The actor said the frightening incident made him reflect on his entire life.
In January, an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khanβs Mumbai home late at night while he was with his children, Taimur and Jeh. The attacker, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, carried a wooden weapon and a blade. He injured both Saif and a staff member before being overpowered.
The 55-year-old actor recalled how his first instinct was to protect his children. He suffered multiple injuries, including a serious wound near his spine, and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery.
Speaking to Esquire India, Saif said surviving the incident felt miraculous. βThereβs this crazy sense of how lucky one is because the knife attack was damn close. To walk away relatively unscathed is nothing short of miraculous,β he shared.
While lying injured on the floor, the actor reflected on his life and family. He explained that his thoughts were not about fame or money but about his wife, children, and their memories together. βAt that time, I thought of how colorful life has beenβthe travels, the wine, my wife, my children. Those are everything.β
Saif Ali Khan also emphasized the importance of safety at home after the attack. He advised people to lock doors, secure entry points, and be more cautious. βWe have a lot, and a lot do not. So while I am grateful, we must understand that and be careful,β he said.
The incident has sparked discussions about the security of celebrities and the importance of preventive safety measures for families.
