NEW DELHI – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his publicity and personality rights. The move comes amid growing concerns over unauthorized use of celebrity identities on social media and other online platforms.
On Thursday, the Delhi High Court heard Salman Khan’s petition. The actor requested the court to prevent individuals and entities from using his name, image, voice, likeness, dialogues, mannerisms, and other personal attributes without his consent. The court directed social media companies to respond to the complaint within three days.
According to the petition, multiple platforms and companies have been allegedly exploiting Salman Khan’s identity without permission. The actor stated that such misuse could mislead customers and damage his brand. He emphasized that these actions might cause irreparable harm to his commercial interests and personality rights.

The Delhi High Court has ordered social media platforms to respond within three days. Legal experts expect the court to issue an interim restraining order soon, which may cover other individuals and entities involved in exploiting the actor’s identity.
