Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly set to receive a hefty sum between Rs 120 crore to Rs 150 crore for hosting the initial phase of Bigg Boss 19. This marks another milestone in the actor’s long-standing association with the popular reality show. The upcoming season, scheduled to premiere on August 30, is expected to have a new hybrid format, blending the digital and television audiences.
Salman Khan, who has been the face of Bigg Boss for over a decade, is confirmed to host the first 15 weeks of the show. His weekly remuneration for this stint is estimated to be between Rs 8 crore and Rs 10 crore. This high payment is reflective of his immense popularity and influence, which has contributed significantly to the show’s success. The hybrid format, with episodes first airing on the OTT platform JioCinema and then on Colors TV with a 90-minute delay, is expected to further boost the show’s reach.
Season 19 of Bigg Boss is set to be the longest season yet, lasting an unprecedented five months. While Salman Khan will take charge for the first three months, sources suggest that other prominent Bollywood celebrities, including Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, and Farah Khan, are in discussions to step in as hosts for the remaining weeks. This approach will keep the audience engaged while offering a fresh perspective in the later stages.
Salman Khan recently filmed a promotional teaser for the season, which was shot over a 10-hour span on July 21. Sources reveal that the promo carries a political theme, hinting at a season filled with satire and social commentary, in contrast to the usual entertainment-driven content.
The actor’s revised compensation for this season also reflects the evolving nature of the show. In past seasons, his fees have steadily increased, with reports suggesting he received Rs 200 crore for season 17 and Rs 250 crore for season 18.
Although the official list of contestants is yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest several television actors and social media influencers are in talks to join the show. Some of the rumored names include Gautami Kapoor, Dheeraj Dhupar, and influencer Gaurav Taneja, among others. Fans are eagerly awaiting the final lineup of contestants, as well as the show’s confirmed duration.
With Salman Khan leading the charge, Bigg Boss 19 is set to be one of the most talked-about seasons yet.
