Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s generous work for cancer patients has been highlighted by author and actress Vijay Venketesh. She shared heartfelt stories on the occasion of his birthday, revealing his decades-long commitment.
According to Vijay, Salman Khan’s involvement in social work spans over 35 years. He frequently visits hospitals, meets young patients, and helps cover their treatment costs. On one occasion, he even gifted his gold earrings to a dying patient.
In an Instagram post, Vijay recalled her first meeting with the actor at Tata Hospital. She wrote, “When I first met him, he offered me his phone number, telling me to reach out whenever someone needed assistance.” She emphasized that Salman keeps his contact information updated to help those in need.
One touching story involved a 12-year-old girl undergoing chemotherapy. She wanted to stop treatment due to pain, but Salman Khan’s gentle encouragement over the phone convinced her to continue. Today, she is 27 and preparing for public administration exams.
Vijay also shared how Salman often takes time out from his busy schedule to visit children in hospitals. On one occasion, after a canceled shoot, he personally suggested visiting a children’s ward at EM Hospital. His presence made a lasting impact on the young patients.
The actor’s generosity extends beyond visits. Vijay recounted instances when Salman offered help immediately after learning about cancer-affected children. In Meerut, he gave his gold earring to a young boy suffering from bone cancer. In another case, he personally arranged for his brothers to check as potential bone marrow donors.
Salman’s commitment also includes spending quality time with patients. Vijay shared how he invited a young patient from Indore to his home for an hour of interaction after a canceled shoot.
Concluding her tribute, Vijay wrote, “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you yet another, and only one, Salman Khan—my long-time companion in caring for cancer patients. Happy birthday, dear Salman; there’s no one like you.”
