Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim is involved in a public dispute after his ex-wife, Sannia Ashfaq, shared screenshots of WhatsApp allegedly sent by him. The revelations have intensified their ongoing conflict.
Over the past few days, Ashfaq posted several messages on Instagram. She accused Wasim of infidelity, neglecting their children, and pressuring her into an abortion. The screenshots of WhatsApp that she shared date back to July 2025, in which Wasim allegedly warned her not to contact him or his family, threatening legal action if she did.
In the messages, Ashfaq reportedly requested Wasim’s presence during the birth of their child. According to her, Wasim responded harshly, even threatening to file a police complaint if she contacted him again without following his conditions.
Sharing the messages on Instagram, Ashfaq wrote: “He says I keep his children away from him… but when I was pregnant carrying his child, exhausted, emotional, and vulnerable I reached out to him.” She added, “I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. I simply asked him to come and see his own unborn son… instead of support, he threatened me while I was carrying his child.”
In response, Wasim allegedly instructed Ashfaq and her family not to contact him by any means, including phone, text, social media, or other channels. His message reportedly stated, “Any attempt to contact me will be reported to the police as harassment. Compliance is essential. My solicitor will be in contact.”
Recently, Sannia Ashfaq also posted a video accusing Wasim of forcing her to terminate her pregnancy in December 2023. She called him a “killer” and claimed to have evidence supporting her accusations. She urged Islamabad United, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to investigate the matter.
Imad Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq married in 2019 and divorced in December 2025. Wasim, who has represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 75 T20 matches, described the end of his first marriage as the most difficult chapter of his life.
The sharing of these screenshots of WhatsApp has sparked widespread discussion on social media, highlighting the private disputes between public figures and raising calls for transparency and accountability.
