Former Pakistani actress Sara Chaudhry has opened up about the difficult experiences she faced during her early days in the entertainment industry. She revealed that both she and her mother were subjected to indecent offers soon after she entered showbiz.
In a recent podcast, Sara Chaudhry discussed the harsh realities that newcomers often face in the entertainment world. She said that harassment is not limited to showbiz but is more visible there due to public perceptions. Many people wrongly assume that those working in the industry โlack character,โ making inappropriate proposals more common.
Sara shared that her mother accompanied her during the initial months of her acting career. She recalled that the first few months were extremely challenging for her family. โMy mother cried and asked me to leave showbiz,โ Sara said, describing how upset her mother was by the indecent offers made by some industry insiders.
She added that some individuals in the industry suggested that success could only be achieved by compromising personal values. โWhat was said to my mother was extremely rude,โ Sara recalled, though she chose not to repeat the exact words.
Despite the pressures, Sara Chaudhry emphasized that she maintained strict personal boundaries throughout her career. She said she always made conscious efforts not to cross her limits, even when faced with difficult situations.
Sara also highlighted that these experiences reflect broader societal issues. She explained that public judgment and stereotypes contribute to the harassment of young actors, making it more frequent and visible in showbiz compared to other professions.
Looking back, Sara Chaudhry expressed gratitude for her motherโs support during those challenging months. She said her motherโs guidance helped her stay grounded and make the right choices, even when faced with unethical pressures.
