Romanian-born actor Sebastian Stan has received two prestigious Golden Globe nominations for the 2025 awards, highlighting his exceptional performances in two different genres.
He is nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of Donald Trump in The Apprentice and Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for A Different Man. Earlier this year, his role in A Different Man earned him the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance at the Berlinale.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Stan expressed his astonishment and joy, saying, βIt feels surrealβ¦ Iβm still trying to process it.β Recalling the moment he learned about the nominations, he shared, βI woke up at 4:00 AM, went back to sleep, and later got a call from my publicist.β He added that heβs been sharing pictures with his mom to celebrate.
In The Apprentice, directed by Ali Abbasi, Stan portrays a young Donald Trump in the 1970s and 1980s, focusing on Trumpβs ambition to dominate New Yorkβs real estate scene and his controversial relationship with lawyer Roy Cohn.
Born in ConstanΘa, Romania, Stan holds dual citizenship in Romania and the U.S. If he wins, he will make history as the first Romanian actor to win a Golden Globe, as noted by Culturaladuba.ro. The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 6, 2025, with Stan also being a strong contender for the Oscars later in the season.
