Pakistani actor Shamoon Abbasi has broken his silence following remarks made by his daughter, Anzela Abbasi, about his absence in her life.
Anzela recently appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, where she spoke openly about her parents’ divorce and her upbringing. She praised her mother, Javeria Abbasi, for fulfilling both parental roles during her childhood.
“My mom had me in her twenties, which is quite young to have a child. She played the roles of both mom and dad. I never felt my father’s absence,” Anzela said during the interview.
Following these comments, Shamoon Abbasi subtly addressed the topic on social media by sharing a series of childhood photos of Anzela on his Facebook page. He captioned the post, “The absent father,” reflecting on his role in her life.
During the podcast, Anzela also acknowledged her father’s talent as an actor but admitted she does not closely relate to him personally. “When I was younger, I could relate to him because I have seen him multitasking. He is an actor, director, producer, and writer. Now, I want to try everything, but I don’t necessarily look up to him in that way,” she said.
Shamoon Abbasi and Javeria Abbasi were married in 1997 and divorced in 2007. Despite the years apart, Shamoon’s recent social media post shows a reflective and subtle acknowledgment of the ongoing conversation about their family dynamics.
The discussion around Shamoon Abbasi and his daughter has sparked widespread attention on social media, with fans expressing support for both parents while commenting on the challenges of parenting post-divorce.
This episode sheds light on how celebrity families navigate personal matters in public, and how both parents and children process relationships affected by separation.
