SHARJAH: The 44th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is gearing up to host an extraordinary line-up of global literary figures, thinkers, and creators from November 5 to 16, 2025, at Expo Centre Sharjah. This year’s event promises to be one of the most culturally vibrant editions yet, reaffirming Sharjah’s reputation as a global hub of knowledge, creativity, and cultural exchange.
The SIBF 2025 will bring together world-renowned authors such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the celebrated Nigerian novelist and feminist icon; Professor Carlo Rovelli, Italian physicist and author of Seven Brief Lessons on Physics; and Paul Lynch, the Irish writer who clinched the Booker Prize for his novel Prophet Song.
An Impressive Roster of Global Talent
This year’s edition features an exciting mix of established and emerging voices across genres and continents.
Among the distinguished participants are:
- Banu Mushtaq, the first Kannada-language author to win the International Booker Prize, representing South Asian literature on a global stage.
- Dr. Julie Smith, renowned British psychologist and author of the bestselling self-help book Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?
- Chris Pavone, the acclaimed American thriller writer behind hits like Two Nights in Lisbon and The Doorman.
Representing the new generation of digital storytellers, Indian content creator and author Prajakta Koli (MostlySane) and sustainability advocate Armen Adamjan, known for his eco-focused platform Creative Explained, will also make appearances at the event.
From Africa, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will unveil her latest novel Dream Count (2025) in her SIBF debut, while Europe will be represented by intellectuals such as Carlo Rovelli and David Wengrow, co-author of The Dawn of Everything.
Adding regional representation, Pakistan’s Mira Sethi, author of Are You Enjoying?, and veteran playwright Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi will bring South Asian perspectives to Sharjah’s global literary stage.

This year’s Sharjah International Book Fair will host hundreds of interactive sessions, panel discussions, and book signings, offering a space where literature meets innovation. Founded in 1982 under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Sharjah International Book Fair has grown into one of the world’s largest literary events, attracting millions of visitors annually. Over four decades, it has played a vital role in making Sharjah a UNESCO-recognized World Book Capital (2019) and a central hub for Arab and global literature.
The 2025 edition continues this legacy — not just as a book fair, but as a celebration of humanity’s shared pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and cultural understanding.
