A wave of grief and anger has spread among fans of Sidhu Moosewala after unidentified gunmen opened fire on his statue in Sawant Kheda village, located in Sirsa’s Dabwali area.
The attack has sparked widespread outrage and political backlash, with the singer’s family calling it “an attack on his soul.”
According to local authorities, the incident occurred a few nights ago. The statue, installed in 2023 by JJP state president Digvijay Chautala, was partially damaged. A case has been registered at the Dabwali police station, and an investigation is underway.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting. In a threatening video sent to politician Digvijay Chautala, gunfire was shown being directed at the statue. The message warned, “After Sidhu Moosewala, it’s the turn of his sympathizers.”
Sidhu Moosewala’s Mother Speaks Out
Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, expressed deep sorrow in a heartfelt Instagram post. She said her son’s enemies are not allowing him to rest in peace, calling the attack “a wound to my soul.”
She described Sidhu Moosewala as more than an artist, saying he was a movement who gave voice to people’s rights. Kaur vowed that their silence should not be seen as defeat and that justice would eventually prevail.
Bishnoi Gang Issues Threats
Members of the Bishnoi gang, including Goldie Dhillon and Arzu Bishnoi, openly took responsibility in a social media post.
They criticized political figures like Digvijay Chautala and Gagan Khokhari for portraying Moosewala as a martyr, claiming statues should honor freedom fighters or soldiers instead.
The attack has renewed calls for tighter security for those associated with Sidhu Moosewala’s legacy and has left his fans in mourning once again.
