Veteran actor Sohail Sameer recently opened up about the early days of his acting journey, revealing that a savior came into his life, and her name is Sawera Nadeem. The actor stated that Sohail Sameer credits Sawera for introducing him to the world of acting and guiding him through his very first drama project.
Recalling his debut, Sameer mentioned the drama “Daak Babu” (Post Man), where he played the role of a postman. His co-star, Azma Gilani, portrayed a mother whose son was living abroad. Sohail shared that Azma Apa’s performance left him spellbound, providing him with inspiration and motivation during his initial days in the industry.
Sohail Sameer also reflected on his modelling career in 2005, when he was nominated for “Face of the Year.” However, he never attended the award event. He admitted that he tried leaving the entertainment industry 3–4 times, feeling that acting might not be his true calling. Yet, he emphasized that Allah had other plans for him, shaping the career path he follows today.
The actor further discussed his experiences in hosting, calling it one of the most challenging aspects of the entertainment industry. He noted that success and failure are secondary; what matters is participating in the race, achieving milestones, and remaining steadfast. Sohail stressed the importance of perseverance, stating that every effort contributes to growth and learning.
Most recently, Sameer appeared in ARY Digital’s drama serial “Dastak” as Sohail Ali Abro’s uncle, showcasing his versatility as an actor. He expressed gratitude for everyone who supported him, emphasizing that mentorship and guidance from senior actors played a crucial role in shaping his career.
Through his journey, Sohail Sameer credits Sawera Nadeem and other industry mentors for helping him navigate the challenges of acting and establishing himself as a respected figure in Pakistan’s entertainment scene.
