Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things is officially available in full, with “ALL EPISODES OF STRANGER THINGS ARE NOW PLAYING,” the platform confirmed on social media.
The show’s finale aired on December 31, 2025, concluding five seasons of supernatural drama set in 1980s Indiana. Despite this, fan theories about an alternative ending, called “Conformity Gate,” went viral on TikTok and Instagram. The theory claims the finale was a fake episode and a secret ninth episode might reveal the “real” ending. However, the current social media posts from Netflix appear to debunk these claims.
Star Noah Schnapp, who played Will Byers, spoke about the series finale in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on January 6. He confirmed that the ending is complete and expressed emotional closure after filming. “I remember crying a lot at the final table read. They had us read it for the first time all together and I just think it was perfect,” Schnapp said.
Schnapp added that the co-creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, “really left nothing more to be told” with the final episodes. “Once I wrapped, I felt it was time to let Will go. Now I’ve really made peace with it, and especially sharing these final episodes with the fans, the fact that these stories have been told and the journeys are done,” he said.
Stranger Things debuted on Netflix in July 2016 and became a global phenomenon. The story follows friends Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and others as they navigate supernatural events and secret government experiments in Hawkins, Indiana. The fifth season was released in two volumes, with Volume 1 on November 26 and Volume 2 on December 25, 2025.
While the finale aired on New Year’s Eve, fans continue to debate the ending. Schnapp emphasized that although the story has concluded, its lessons and relationships will stay with him. “I hope this show can have a lasting, positive impact,” he said.
With all episodes now available, Netflix encourages fans to watch the complete Stranger Things series and experience the full journey from Hawkins’ mysterious events to the emotional conclusions of its characters.
