Renowned Pakistani filmmaker Syed Noor has opened up about his love story with actress Saima, which began during the filming of his blockbuster movie Ghonghat.
In a recent interview, Syed Noor shared that the film’s success was shaped by unexpected casting changes that also influenced his personal life.
Casting changes in Ghonghat
The director revealed that actor Noman Ijaz was originally set to play the lead role, while actress Neeli was chosen as the female lead. However, both backed out from the project. Their departure paved the way for Shaan and Saima to take on the main roles.
According to Noor, some buyers even demanded refunds when Shaan was cast, but he insisted on giving the young actor the chance. This decision ultimately paid off, as the film went on to achieve massive success.
How Saima became the lead
Noor explained that Saima was not the first choice for the female lead. The role came to her after Neeli’s exit. During the filming process, Noor admitted he developed feelings for Saima.
The film became a turning point for both their careers and personal lives. Audiences loved the on-screen pairing of Shaan and Saima, while behind the scenes, Noor’s bond with Saima grew stronger.
