Actor Varun Dhawan has addressed the online trolling following the trailer release of Border 2. The trailer, which introduced fans to the story of a late war hero, received mixed reactions on social media.
Some viewers criticised Varun’s facial expressions and smile, with memes and jokes circulating widely. Despite this, the actor remained unfazed and focused on the film’s message.
Speaking at the launch of Border 2’s tribute trailer Braves of the Soil in Mumbai, Varun Dhawan said he has learned to ignore online noise. “I believe that you shut down the noise and just let your work do the talking,” he stated. “All these things keep happening. It doesn’t really matter. I don’t work for this. What I work for, you will find out this Friday.”
Varun plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra recipient and war hero who sacrificed his life during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. He expressed complete faith in the film and praised the performances of his co-stars.
“The most important thing is to make a good film. I’m not concerned with numbers. I believe we made a good film,” Varun said, highlighting that box office performance is secondary to storytelling and authenticity.
Border 2 is the sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 iconic war film Border. The sequel features Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and newcomer Ahan Shetty alongside Varun Dhawan. The film aims to honor the bravery of soldiers and capture the intensity of war with realistic performances and high production values.
