Comedian Zakir Khan stunned fans during his Hyderabad show as his announcement leaves audiences emotional. He revealed plans to take a long hiatus from the stage.
In a clip trending online, Zakir said, “I’m going on a long, long break till 2028, 2029, 2030 probably. Three, four, five-year break to take care of health and some other issues that need to be looked at.” The announcement leaves fans surprised and saddened, as many have followed his performances for years.
He added, “At this moment, everyone present here tonight is very close to my heart. Your presence means more to me than you can imagine, and I will always be grateful to all of you. Thank you so much.” His heartfelt words resonated with the audience and sparked a wave of social media reactions.
Ahead of his Dubai show, Zakir also shared a note on Instagram Stories, reminding fans, “Every show is a celebration till 20th June.” He added, “Mai bahut sheher nahi aa paunga, iss bar aap thoda takaluf utha kar aa jaiye. Thank you for all the love.” Fans expressed mixed feelings online, as the announcement leaves them both excited to see him live and sad about the upcoming break.
Zakir Khan has been open about his health challenges. Last year, in 2025, he discussed how continuous shows, early flights, irregular meals, and lost sleep had affected his well-being. This long break, he explained, will allow him to recover and focus on personal matters.
Fans and fellow comedians have flooded social media with messages of support, wishing him a safe and restful hiatus. Despite the pause, Zakir’s legacy in stand-up comedy continues to inspire new performers and entertain audiences across India.
