Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom has hinted at his possible return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The star, best known for playing Will Turner, discussed the idea in a recent interview with Screen Rant.
Bloom, who appeared in four of the five films, said there is interest in bringing back the original cast. However, he confirmed that no official decisions have been made yet.
“I think the way to win on that one is to get everybody back,” the actor explained. He added that fans love the nostalgia of the movies and would enjoy seeing familiar faces again.
Bloom and his co-star Keira Knightley stepped away after the third film. They skipped the fourth installment, believing their characters had a fitting conclusion at that point.
Despite this, Bloom admitted he is open to returning if the right script comes along. “If the script was great, and ideally it was everybody, it would be kind of like in for a penny, in for a pound,” he said.
The 48-year-old actor also spoke about possible new directions for the series. He suggested the creators might consider adding a strong female lead, though nothing has been confirmed. “Everything is in the writing, right? Everything is on the page,” Bloom remarked.
For now, it remains unclear whether Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow, the central character of the Caribbean films. Fans of the franchise continue to speculate about his involvement, but Disney has not made an announcement.
The Caribbean film series remains one of Disney’s most successful franchises, earning billions worldwide. With Bloom showing interest in a return, audiences may yet see the original crew reunite for another adventure on the high seas.
