Meghan Markle has once again become the focus of online criticism following the release of her Netflix trailer. The Duchess of Sussex faced heavy trolling, with most negative remarks appearing to come from royal family supporters.
Her second season trailer for With Love, Meghan quickly sparked debate, not only due to online reactions but also because of its timing. Just a day later, Kate Middleton shared her own video project titled Mother Nature: Summer through the official channels of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The back-to-back releases led Markle’s supporters to question whether the timing was coincidental or intentional. Many pointed out what they described as a pattern of strategic scheduling by the royal household.
Examples cited by Sussex supporters include the announcement of an investigation into Markle’s alleged workplace behavior shortly before her Oprah Winfrey interview, and Kate’s hospital visit news released the day before Meghan’s first Netflix show aired.
Kate’s new video, which featured her narration but not her on-screen appearance, received fewer views compared to Markle’s Netflix project. Analysts note the sharp contrast in online engagement between the two releases.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s recent public appearances also attracted attention. During their visit to Wales, the couple engaged in casual activities such as jam-making. Critics argue that such moments, while lighthearted, are strategically timed to pull focus away from Meghan’s projects.
Supporters of Prince William and Kate, however, dismiss the claims, calling the overlap coincidental. They argue that both couples have independent schedules and projects, which sometimes naturally align.
Despite the debate, the contrasting public reactions highlight the ongoing media divide between the Sussexes and the Prince and Princess of Wales. The situation once again shows how both sides remain under intense public and online scrutiny.
