QUETTA: Seventeen more Electric Buses will soon be added to the Quetta Green Bus Service. The expansion aims to improve public transport across the provincial capital.

The new buses will serve areas with limited public transport connectivity. The move is expected to provide more travel options for residents.

Quetta Division Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari announced the expansion during a meeting. The meeting reviewed the existing Green Bus Service and its facilities.

Officials also discussed measures to improve the service for commuters. The operating agency provided details about routes, bus stops, and daily operations.

25 Green Buses Currently Operating

Officials informed the meeting that 25 Green Buses are currently operating in Quetta. Four of these buses are reserved exclusively for women.

Female staff members have also been deployed on the women-only buses. This arrangement aims to provide safer and more convenient travel for female passengers.

The Green Bus Service currently operates across four routes. The buses run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Several designated bus stops are available along the routes. These stops allow passengers to access the service from different parts of the city.

Routes Cover Several Areas

The Kuchlak route has around 40 bus stops. Another route connects the Metropolitan area with Sariab Road.

Officials said this route has approximately 50 stops. The network therefore covers several important areas of Quetta.

The planned addition of 17 buses will further expand the existing fleet. It will also help extend public transport coverage to underserved areas.

Green Bus Service Expands to Turbat

The meeting was also informed about the expansion of the service to Turbat. Four Green Buses are currently operating in the city.

The development marks another step in expanding electric public transport in Balochistan. Authorities are continuing to review the service and its facilities.

The latest expansion will increase the number of buses available in Quetta. It is also expected to improve connectivity for commuters.

The authorities have not provided a specific date for the deployment of the 17 new buses. Further details about their routes and operations are expected later.

The Green Bus Service currently provides transport across multiple routes and designated stops. The addition of more Electric Buses will expand its operational capacity.

Officials are also reviewing commuter facilities as part of efforts to improve public transport services. The service includes dedicated arrangements for women passengers.
