Eid Rush Hits KP as 262,000 Tourists Make Swat the Star Destination

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw a major rise in tourism during Eid-ul-Fitr. More than 262,000 Tourists visited scenic areas across the province. The large number highlights growing interest in northern destinations.

According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, over 101,420 Tourists arrived during the first two days of Eid. These visits were recorded on March 21 and 22. Among them, a small number were foreign visitors, showing global interest.

Swat Valley remained the top destination during the Eid holidays. It attracted the highest number of Tourists compared to other areas. Over 58,000 visitors were recorded in the first two days alone. The number increased to more than 186,000 during the full holiday period. Officials said Swat continues to lead due to its natural beauty and improved facilities.

Galiyat also witnessed a strong turnout. Around 30,450 visitors arrived in the early days of Eid. By the end of the holidays, the number reached 51,886. This reflects a steady increase in travel to hill stations near urban areas.

Naran Kaghan also experienced a noticeable flow of visitors. The region remains popular for its lakes and mountain views. Meanwhile, Kalash Valley and Garam Chashma recorded a combined 3,509 visitors. Kumrat Valley attracted around 3,400 people, showing interest in less crowded destinations.

Foreign tourism also showed positive signs. A total of 76 foreign visitors were recorded across different tourist spots. Officials believe this number may grow in the coming seasons.

Authorities took steps to manage the large crowds. Police and district administrations monitored tourist activity throughout Eid. Tourism Police staff remained on duty to assist visitors and ensure safety.

Officials say the rise in Tourists is linked to better infrastructure and security. Improved roads and facilities have made travel easier. The government aims to further promote tourism in the region.
