ISLAMABAD: A team of eight Pakistani women climbers has successfully reached the summit of Khusar Gang Peak, marking another major achievement for women’s mountaineering in the country.
The expedition was organized by the Alpine Club of Pakistan as part of its second women’s climbing mission to Khusar Gang Peak, which stands at an elevation of 6,040 meters. The successful ascent highlights the growing role of female climbers in Pakistan’s high-altitude mountaineering community.
The achievement is being viewed as an important milestone for women in adventure sports. It reflects the increasing participation of Pakistani women in challenging expeditions and demanding outdoor activities.
The climbing team was led by experienced mountaineer Bibi Afzoon. The expedition included women from Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Islamabad. Their participation showcased the presence of talented climbers from different regions of Pakistan.

Qaid Shigri was responsible for fixing ropes along the climbing route. This work helped provide additional safety for the team during their journey to the summit.
