– The national weather department has issued a new Aforecast, warning of rain and thunderstorms in several northern regions of Pakistan during the coming days. The weather system is expected to bring cloudy conditions and a drop in temperatures.
According to the latest Aforecast, a westerly wave will approach the western parts of the country on Monday evening. The system is likely to remain active until March 12. Meteorologists say this weather pattern could trigger rainfall and thunderstorms in many areas.
Under this Aforecast, moderate rain with wind and thunderstorms is expected in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These areas include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battgram, Buner, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur. The rainfall may start from the evening of March 9 and continue until March 12.
Weather officials also said that light rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur in other districts. Meteorologists warned that isolated hailstorms may also occur in Islamabad and some upper parts of the country during this period. These weather conditions could affect travel and outdoor activities in the affected regions.
In addition, daytime temperatures are expected to drop by about 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the northern parts of Pakistan. The cooler weather may bring temporary relief from recent warm conditions.
