Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has officially started admissions for the Autumn 2026 semester. The university is offering a wide range of academic programs through Open Distance Learning (ODL) and face-to-face modes.
According to the latest admission announcement, AIOU is accepting applications for Matric, Intermediate, Associate Degree, BS, BBA, BEd, Postgraduate Diplomas, Certificate courses, MBA, MS, MPhil, MSc (Hons), and PhD programs.
The university has shared different deadlines for fresh applicants, postgraduate students, and continuing students. This gives students enough time to complete the admission process.
For Matric and Intermediate, AIOU is offering several programs under ODL mode. Matric options include General, Science, Dars-e-Nizami, and Open Courses. Intermediate programs include FA General, FA Dars-e-Nizami, ICom, FA Open Courses, and FSc Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering.
The university is also offering many undergraduate programs. These include Associate Degree, BS, BBA, and teacher training courses. Students can apply in subjects like Computer Science, Economics, English, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Mass Communication, and International Relations.
AIOU has also introduced BS Computer Science with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This step reflects the growing demand for modern technology education.
Apart from distance learning, the university is also offering face-to-face programs. These include fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Agriculture.
Teacher training remains a key part of the admission cycle. AIOU has opened admissions in BEd and other teacher education programs. These focus on Elementary Education, Science Education, Special Education, and School Leadership.
The last date for fresh applicants in Matric, FA, AD, BS, BEd, PGD, and Certificate courses is August 10, 2026. For PhD, MPhil, MS, and MSc (Hons) programs, the closing date is August 17, 2026. Continuing students can enroll until August 24, 2026.
The university has also announced entry tests for postgraduate programs. Candidates must follow the faculty-wise schedule provided in the official advertisement.
