Ali Jafri Torture Case: Main Accused Granted Interim Bail

KARACHI: A local court on Tuesday granted interim bail to Ibrahim Sathi. He is the main accused in the Ali Jafri torture case.

The case relates to an alleged brutal assault in Karachiโ€™s Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The court directed Ibrahim Sathi to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000.

The case was registered after a complaint filed by Ali Jafri. According to the FIR, Ibrahim Sathi and four accomplices allegedly kidnapped Jafri.

The suspects allegedly subjected him to severe physical torture. The attackers reportedly used a baseball bat during the assault.

The FIR also states that the suspects shaved Ali Jafriโ€™s head. They allegedly forced him to consume different items during the incident.

The suspects reportedly recorded the entire episode on video. The footage later became a key part of the allegations surrounding the case.

The complainant also alleged that the main accused described himself as the โ€œbutcher of Tauheed Commercial.โ€

Police have already arrested two suspects in connection with the case. They were identified as Malik Ibrahim and Waqas.

Meanwhile, additional allegations have emerged against suspects linked to the Ali Jafri torture case. Two residents have reported separate attacks at their homes.

Usman Imran said his house was attacked early on August 1. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:00 AM.

Usman said the attack happened shortly after the assault on Ali Jafri. He alleged that Ibrahim accused him of leaking videos of the incident.

According to Usman, nine armed individuals arrived outside his home. He identified Ibrahim Malik, Waqar, and another person named Ibrahim among them.

Usman said the attackers were carrying sharp weapons. Ibrahim Malik allegedly demanded that he come outside.

He further stated that six other individuals climbed onto his floor using ladders. The group later escaped on three motorcycles.

Usman said he went to wake his elder brother, Suleman Imran. The attackers fled before further confrontation could take place.

Another resident, Hadi, also reported an alleged attack. He claimed that Usman Baloch and Ibrahim Malik assaulted him from behind.

Hadi said two additional suspects also attacked him during the incident. He later attempted to register an FIR at Darakhshan Police Station.

However, Hadi alleged that police directed him to Clifton Police Station. He subsequently submitted an application there.

According to Hadi, no FIR has been registered so far. The allegations remain subject to investigation by the relevant authorities.

The interim bail granted to Ibrahim Sathi does not conclude the case. Further legal proceedings will determine the next steps.
