The Pakistani government has stepped up security preparations ahead of a planned PTI protest. However, authorities have decided against Army Deployment for the demonstrations.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry confirmed the decision in an interview with BBC Urdu. He said the army would not be used to manage the PTI protest.

Instead, the government will rely on civilian and paramilitary forces. Police, Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel will handle security duties.
