Australia Arrives in Lahore for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The Australian cricket team arrived in Lahore on Monday to compete in the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament will kick off on February 19, with Australia set to play their first match against their traditional rivals, England, on February 22 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Australia’s squad arrived in two separate groups. The first group, led by captain Steve Smith, along with coaches and support staff, flew in from Colombo via Dubai. The second group, which included 15 players and additional support staff, followed the same route and reached Lahore later in the day. Key players like Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, and Adam Zampa are among those who have arrived in Lahore.

Having just concluded a two-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which Australia lost 2-0, the team opted to skip warm-up matches. After facing England, Australia will play South Africa on February 25 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, followed by a clash with Afghanistan on February 28, also at Gaddafi Stadium.

Australia’s 2025 Champions Trophy squad includes notable names such as Steve Smith (captain), Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa, with Cooper Connolly traveling as the reserve.

In other news, the excitement for the India-Pakistan clash on February 23 in Dubai has reached fever pitch, with tickets selling out within an hour of their release. The ICC responded to the overwhelming demand by releasing additional tickets, which were also snapped up in just 90 minutes, showcasing the massive anticipation surrounding this historic rivalry.
