The Balochistan government has announced a new initiative to provide electric bikes to employees, students, and ordinary citizens on easy installment. The scheme aims to make eco-friendly transportation more affordable.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that government resources will be used to offer relief to the public. He emphasized that this project would support both daily commuters and students. The program includes a 30 percent subsidy on electric bikes, making them more accessible to a wider population.
The bikes will be distributed through bank financing, allowing citizens to pay in easy installment over time. This approach ensures that people with limited budgets can still benefit from the initiative. The scheme is expected to reduce transportation costs and promote green mobility in the province.
In addition to the electric bike project, Chief Minister Bugti announced a new health insurance package for all government employees. This package aims to lower the financial burden of medical expenses and improve overall healthcare access for employees.
During a recent cabinet meeting, the chief minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for supporting educational and social initiatives in Balochistan. The government highlighted that such programs are part of a broader effort to improve living standards across the province.
It is worth noting that Punjab has also implemented a similar program. The Punjab government, through the Bank of Punjab, offers electric bike schemes on easy installment for college and university students. Thousands of electric and petrol bikes have already been distributed to eligible students under that program.
The Balochistan governmentโs plan is expected to follow the same model, providing affordable and sustainable transportation options for its citizens. Officials believe that this initiative will encourage more people to adopt electric vehicles and reduce the reliance on conventional fuel.
