The education departments of Balochistan and Punjab have released the official winter vacation schedule for schools in their provinces. Students and parents can now plan accordingly for the upcoming holidays.
In Balochistan, the Education Ministry announced that schools in colder areas will remain closed from December 16 for approximately two and a half months. Both public and private institutions are included in this winter vacation schedule, giving students an extended break to stay safe from harsh weather conditions.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, schools will close for winter holidays starting December 23, 2025. The break will continue until January 11, 2026. Schools will reopen on January 12, marking the start of a new academic session. Authorities have urged students to complete pending assignments and prepare for the upcoming term during the winter vacation schedule.
The Meteorological Department has also issued weather updates ahead of the holidays. Most regions, including Islamabad, are expected to experience cold and dry conditions. Mountainous areas, such as Murree and Galyat, will face severe cold, especially during early mornings and late evenings.
In Punjab, cities like Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Gujrat may experience fog and smog during the break. Other districts, including Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur, are also likely to see foggy conditions. Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will witness cold and dry weather, while Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will face extremely cold temperatures with partly cloudy skies.
The Met Office has also warned that on December 5 and 6, heavy winds, rain, and snowfall are possible in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution in these areas.
With schools now officially closed, students and families can prepare for their break, keeping weather conditions and safety measures in mind.
