The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a digital dashboard to monitor its flagship stunting prevention initiative, the Nashonuma Programme.
The dashboard was inaugurated by BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid, along with Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation Syed Imran Ahmed Shah and WFP Country Director Coco Ushiyama. The platform aims to strengthen oversight and enable data-driven decision-making in Pakistanโs health and social protection sectors.
The Nashonuma Programme dashboard provides real-time insights to improve monitoring, accountability, and policy responses at federal and provincial levels. Officials said the platform will help track the progress of nutrition interventions for women and children across the country.
Senator Rubina Khalid highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying it ensures better growth for children and addresses nutritional deficiencies, particularly among girls. She acknowledged the technical support provided by the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization.
The Nashonuma Programme has already benefited over four million women and children, providing essential nutrition during the critical first one thousand days of life. Authorities say this intervention is vital to combat stunting and support healthy child development.
In addition to health initiatives, BISP recently announced an increase in stipend amounts under its flagship programmes for Ramadan. The Chairperson disclosed that the Benazir Kafalat quarterly stipend will rise from Rs. 13,500 to Rs. 14,500, offering financial relief to 10 million beneficiary families across Pakistan.
Officials stated that the launch of the Nashonuma Programme dashboard complements these financial measures, ensuring a holistic approach to social protection and nutrition.
The real-time monitoring system is expected to strengthen decision-making, improve resource allocation, and ensure the effective delivery of services to vulnerable populations. BISP officials emphasized that the initiative reflects the governmentโs commitment to child nutrition and womenโs welfare.
