Islamabad: Education plays a key role in shaping a better future for children. To support low-income families, the government is offering BISP Scholarships through the Benazir Income Support Program.
The initiative is designed to help deserving students continue their studies. Officials said BISP Scholarships aim to reduce financial pressure on poor families and improve school enrollment rates.
The program focuses on ensuring that children from needy households receive consistent educational support. Authorities believe education is the only way to achieve long-term progress.
Under the registration process, families can apply for BISP Scholarships in three simple steps.
First, parents must visit the nearest BISP center with their children. They need to bring the child’s B-form and a registered mobile number. After verification, an enrolment slip is issued.
Second, the enrolment slip must be taken to the child’s school. School staff are required to fill in academic details carefully.
Third, the completed slip must be returned to the BISP center for final processing.
Officials said accurate information is important for smooth approval of BISP Scholarships applications.
Several key details must be included in the form. These include the student’s class, section, teacher’s name, and school head’s information.
Eligibility rules are also clearly defined. The student’s mother must already be a registered BISP beneficiary.
A NADRA-issued B-form is mandatory for all children applying for BISP Scholarships.
Students must also maintain at least 70 percent school attendance to continue receiving financial support.
If a student changes schools, the BISP office must be informed immediately. This ensures records remain updated.
The scholarship covers different education levels. These include primary, secondary, and higher secondary students.
Age requirements vary by level. Primary students must be between 4 and 12 years old. Secondary students range from 8 to 18 years. Higher secondary students must be between 13 and 22 years old.
Quarterly payments are provided under BISP Scholarships. Boys and girls receive different amounts based on education level.
Girls also receive an additional bonus of 3,000 rupees after completing primary education.
