LAHORE – A 15-year-old girl was reportedly subjected to shocking family violence over an alleged friendship with a young man in Chungi Amer Sidhu, Lahore. The incident has drawn attention to the dangers of honor-based violence in the city.

According to reports, the girl, who lives in Shahdara Town, was visiting her brother’s house in Baba Farid Colony when the attack occurred. Family members, including her brother, sister-in-law, and two relatives, forcibly shaved her head as punishment for her alleged friendship.

The perpetrators also recorded the assault and threatened to share the disturbing video online. The teenage victim, traumatized by the attack, was rescued by local law enforcement officials.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Model Town, Shehrbano Naqvi, confirmed that the girl’s father, Dilbar, filed a formal complaint after learning about the assault. Police quickly registered the case and launched an investigation.

The SHO of Kot Lakhpat, along with a police team, arrested four of the accused, including the girl’s brother Qasim, sister-in-law Masooma, and two relatives, Samir and Ganger Bibi. Authorities have stated that further legal proceedings will follow to ensure justice.

SP Naqvi emphasized that such incidents of violence, particularly over a girl’s friendship, are unacceptable. Law enforcement agencies have pledged to take strong action against the offenders and implement measures to prevent similar cases in the future.

This incident highlights ongoing societal challenges in protecting young women from harassment and abuse. Police officials also urged families to respect personal choices and warned that honor-based violence is punishable under the law.
