RAWALPINDI โ Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has been shifted back to Adiala Jail after undergoing eye surgery in Rawalpindi. She was earlier moved to a private hospital for urgent treatment.
According to jail sources, Bushra Bibi had been facing vision problems in her right eye. Medical tests showed retinal detachment. Doctors advised immediate surgery to prevent further complications.
Following approval and consent, she was taken to a private hospital on Wednesday evening. A team of eye specialists, led by Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi, performed the procedure. The operation was completed successfully.
Hospital officials said Bushra Bibi remained under observation for one night after surgery. Her condition was later declared stable by doctors. She was discharged after initial recovery.
After discharge, she was shifted back to Adiala Jail under tight security arrangements. Medical teams have advised regular follow-up checkups. These visits are part of her post-operative care plan.
During her stay in jail, Bushra Bibi also met her daughters and sister. The meeting lasted for more than one hour. Jail officials confirmed the family visit was allowed under standard procedures.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan also issued a statement on social media platform X. He said he was informed about her hospital shift late at night. He requested updates on her medical condition.
He also urged authorities to allow family visits. He emphasized that Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan should receive proper medical care. He said this is a legal and human right.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has also been undergoing eye treatment. He recently received an anti-VEGF injection at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad. His treatment is ongoing due to blurred vision issues.
