The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reclaimed 50 kanal of encroached land in Islamabad. The land is located at Quaid-i-Azam University.
The site had been reserved for the National Center for Physics. The CDA conducted a joint anti-encroachment operation to clear the area.
The operation was carried out by teams from the CDAโs Enforcement and Environment Wings. Seven illegal structures were removed during the drive.
The action has cleared the land for its planned purpose. The CDA said the operation supports its efforts to protect public property.
Heavy machinery was used to remove the illegal structures. Officials from the district administration also attended the operation.
A large police contingent was deployed at the site. The security arrangement was made to prevent any possible untoward incident.
The operation also led to the registration of one obstruction case. The case was referred to Secretariat Police Station for further legal proceedings.
The CDA said illegal encroachments and obstructions on public land would not be allowed. It added that such actions would continue across Islamabad.
