Chehlum of Imam Hussain Observed Across Pakistan with Tight Security and Limited Mobile Services

Nationwide processions marking the Chehlum of Imam Hussain are being held with profound solemnity and increased security across Pakistan.

This event, also known as Arbaeen, pays tribute to the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson and the other martyrs of Karbala.

Rangers and police officers were deployed to safeguard the processions, and additional measures such as bans on pillion riding and carrying licensed weapons were enforced throughout the province.

In major cities like Karachi, Peshawar, and Lahore, traffic management plans were meticulously implemented to ensure the safety of participants.

Authorities imposed diversions and restrictions to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize disruptions during the observance.

Mobile phone services remain suspended in Karachi and other sensitive districts in Sindh during the Chehlum processions.

Additionally, the Sindh government has enforced a province-wide ban on pillion riding for the Chehlum. The day is also being observed as a local holiday in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and other cities.
