CM Gandapur Unveils 'Roshan Mustaqbil' & 'Sahara' Cards for Public Welfare in KP

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched two major welfare initiatives — the Roshan Mustaqbil Card for orphans and the Sahara Card for widows — designed to assist the most vulnerable communities in the province.

During a ceremony at the CM House in Peshawar on Monday, Gandapur personally distributed these cards to orphaned children and widowed women. The event was attended by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah, various MPAs, and government officials.

Through the Roshan Mustaqbil Card, orphaned children between the ages of 5 and 16 will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000, with 9,000 children benefitting in the initial phase. The Sahara Card will provide Rs. 5,000 per month to widows aged 45 and above, beginning with 15,000 women.

Monthly payments are scheduled for disbursement by the 5th of each month, starting immediately. To assist with Eid-ul-Adha preparations, beneficiaries will receive double payments — Rs. 10,000 each — for May and June. The selection process was transparent, and the initiative will expand in July to include more eligible individuals.

CM Gandapur commended the Social Welfare Department for their efforts and announced additional programs, including data collection to reach more underprivileged people, the distribution of electric wheelchairs to disabled students and workers, the expansion of the Sehat Card to cover high-cost treatments like implants and transplants, and a significant boost to the dowry fund — now Rs. 200,000 — which has already helped 4,000 girls get married.
