Customs Stops Smuggling of Over 100 iPhones at Islamabad Airport

Customs authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle numerous high-value mobile phones, collectively valued at millions of rupees, at Islamabad International Airport.

Customs officials at Islamabad airport intercepted 121 iPhones in two separate incidents. Passengers arriving from different countries were involved in the attempted smuggling, allegedly with the collaboration of Civil Aviation Contractors and employees from Gerry’s and the Airports Security Force (ASF).

Sources emphasized the need for law enforcement agencies to closely monitor officials from various departments at airports, particularly in Islamabad and others.

In response to the alleged complicity of Gerry’s employees, an FIR has been filed against officials from these departments, as confirmed by the Collector Customs at Islamabad International Airport.
