ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan by phone on Sunday.
The discussion focused on bilateral cooperation and regional developments. Both officials reviewed progress on agreements reached during their recent Istanbul meeting.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar thanked Tรผrkiye for hosting the Strategic Political and Defence Committee meeting.
The two ministers discussed steps to implement understandings reached during the Istanbul discussions. They also explored ways to expand cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance.
The officials exchanged views on important regional and global developments. They also discussed issues of mutual interest between Pakistan and Tรผrkiye.
Both sides considered opportunities to strengthen cooperation through multilateral platforms. The talks also covered matters related to regional security and broader international developments.
The foreign ministers agreed to maintain close communication. Pakistan and Tรผrkiye also reaffirmed their commitment to stronger cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance.
Dar Holds Talks With Egyptian Counterpart
Earlier, Ishaq Dar also held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
The two ministers reviewed the state of Pakistan-Egypt bilateral relations. They exchanged views on regional and international developments during the conversation.
Regional security issues were also discussed during the talks. Both sides highlighted the importance of continued engagement on matters affecting regional stability.
The Egyptian foreign minister invited Dar to visit Egypt at a mutually convenient time. Dar is expected to consider the invitation for a bilateral visit.
Pakistan and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides also agreed to remain closely engaged on regional security matters.
The two foreign ministers further agreed to meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
The discussions reflect Pakistanโs ongoing diplomatic engagement with Tรผrkiye and Egypt. Islamabad continues to seek closer cooperation on regional and international issues.
The talks with Tรผrkiye also highlighted the importance of the Makkah Defence Alliance in expanding security cooperation.
