A tragic cylinder blast in Islamabad’s Sector G-7/2 has caused significant damage to several houses. Rescue officials reported multiple casualties.
According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner General, the blast occurred in the residential area, affecting nearby homes. The explosion created panic among local residents.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving reports. They pulled 15 people from the damaged houses. Unfortunately, five of the rescued later died from their injuries. The remaining injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals trapped due to the cylinder blast have now been rescued. Relief operations were completed, and the area was secured to prevent further accidents. Officials urged residents to exercise caution with gas cylinders and other hazardous materials.
The cause of the cylinder blast is under investigation. Preliminary reports suggest it may have been due to a gas leak, but officials are waiting for a detailed assessment. Police and fire services collected evidence from the site. They also advised homeowners to check the safety of their gas installations.
Earlier, a separate domestic accident occurred in the Dijkot area. Eight members of a family were injured when the roof of a house collapsed at Chak No. 271-RB. The victims included Muhammad Akram, his wife Saadia (35), their children Israr (10), Waseem (18), Asma Akram (12), Noor Fatima (8), Kashaf Akram (4), and a guest, Robina Riaz (35). They were trapped under debris and required urgent medical attention.
The recent cylinder blast highlights ongoing concerns about household safety in urban areas. Authorities are calling for stricter safety checks and public awareness campaigns. Residents are encouraged to follow safety guidelines and report any potential hazards immediately to prevent similar incidents in the future.
