DevFest Islamabad 2025 Highlights AI Innovation, Digital Literacy, and Pakistan’s Growing Tech Ecosystem

Islamabad, December 16, 2025 — Google Developer Group (GDG) Islamabad successfully concluded DevFest Islamabad 2025 at the Ramada Hotel, gathering over 300 developers, entrepreneurs, and government officials. The event served as a critical platform for discussing Artificial Intelligence, Google technologies, and the responsible adoption of digital innovation in Pakistan.

Chief Guest Mr. Zarrar Hasham Khan, Secretary IT & Telecommunication (MoITT), emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborating with the tech sector and accelerating workforce upskilling. He stated that informed AI adoption and digital trust are pivotal for Pakistan’s transition to a knowledge-based economy.

Organized by GDG Islamabad Co-Managers Sarwat Rizvi, Muhammad Umar Nazir, and Ali Naqi Rizvi, the conference featured deep dives into the latest AI advancements: Gemini 3.0 and its “Deep Think” capabilities for complex automation were demonstrated by Ali Naqi Rizvi (Teradata). Daniyal Khalid (Google) introduced the AI-powered IDE, Antigravity, focusing on the “trust architecture” needed for reliable AI agents.

Sessions covered practical application and scaling, including transforming AI concepts into products (Shajeel Afzal, UpAlerts), implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for internal use cases (Mughees Awan, Teradata), and enhancing research using NotebookLM (Mahnoor Salman, atomcamp). GDE Marium Aslam addressed prompt injection and the necessity for robust safety testing of LLMs. Imran Ghazali (Optimize Digital) and Aiman Rafiq (Mobilink) discussed the societal impact of “Synthetic Truth,” urging source verification.

In a parallel workshop, Ibrahim Khan (Arbisoft) taught attendees how to build products using design thinking and AI tools without complex coding. Aziz Kassamali (BogoLiv) delivered a keynote on personal initiative and scaling Pakistani businesses globally.
