Government Cuts Diesel Price by Rs14, Petrol Rates Stay the Same

ISLAMABAD – The government has announced the new petroleum product prices for the next 15 days, bringing relief to diesel consumers.

According to an official statement, the Prime Minister approved the revised petroleum prices, which will take effect from midnight. The price of petrol remains unchanged, while the diesel price reduced by Rs14 per litre.

Following the reduction, the new high-speed diesel (HSD) price has been set at Rs265.65 per litre. Petrol continues to be sold at Rs263.45 per litre, offering stability for petrol consumers.

The Petroleum Division issued an official notification confirming the diesel price reduced for the upcoming 15-day period. The adjustment reflects the government’s response to fuel market trends and global oil price changes.

This latest move is expected to benefit transporters, businesses, and industries that rely heavily on diesel. Analysts say the diesel price reduced will help lower operational costs and may have a positive impact on commodity prices.

Officials emphasized that these prices will remain in effect for the next 15 days, after which a review will be conducted based on market conditions. Consumers are advised to follow updates from the Petroleum Division for any future adjustments.

The government’s decision comes as part of its broader strategy to stabilize fuel prices while considering economic pressures. While petrol prices remain constant, the reduction in diesel provides immediate relief to sectors dependent on diesel fuel.
